വിജയവാഡ: വിനായക ചതുർഥി ആഘോഷങ്ങളുടെ ഭാഗമായി അന്നദാനത്തിനുള്ള ഭക്ഷണം തയ്യാറാക്കുന്നതിനിടെ തിളച്ച സാമ്പാർ നിറച്ച വലിയ പാത്രത്തിലേക്ക് അബദ്ധത്തിൽ വീണ് ഗുരുതരമായി പൊള്ളലേറ്റ 46കാരിക്ക് ദാരുണാന്ത്യം. ആന്ധ്രപ്രദേശിലെ വിജയവാഡയിലെ എൽ റാവു നഗർ മേഖലയിലാണ് സംഭവം. സുജാത എന്ന 46കാരിയാണ് മരിച്ചത്.
ഞായറാഴ്ച രാവിലെ വിനായക ചതുർഥി ആഘോഷങ്ങളുടെ ഭാഗമായി സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച അന്നദാന പരിപാടിക്കുള്ള ഭക്ഷണം തയ്യാറാക്കാൻ സംഘാടകരെ സഹായിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു സുജാത. ഭക്ഷണം തയ്യാറാക്കുന്നതിനിടെ സാമ്പാർ നിറച്ച വലിയ പാത്രം കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നതിനിടെയാണ് സുജാതയ്ക്ക് ബാലൻസ് നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട് പാത്രത്തിലേക്ക് വീണതെന്ന് പോലീസ് പറയുന്നു. പ്രദേശവാസികളും ഇക്കാര്യം സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചു.
അപകടം കണ്ട ഉടൻ സംഘാടകർ സുജാതയെ പാത്രത്തിൽ നിന്ന് പുറത്തെടുത്ത് ആശുപത്രിയിൽ എത്തിച്ചു. ശരീരമാസകലം ഗുരുതരമായി പൊള്ളലേറ്റിരുന്നു. ചികിത്സയിലിരിക്കെ ആരോഗ്യനില അതീവ ഗുരുതരമായി തുടരുകയായിരുന്നു. ഒടുവിൽ തിങ്കളാഴ്ച രാവിലെയാണ് സുജാത മരിച്ചത്. സംഭവത്തിൽ വിജയവാഡ ടൗൺ പോലീസ് കേസെടുത്ത് അന്വേഷണം ആരംഭിച്ചു. അന്വേഷണത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി കൂടുതൽ വിവരങ്ങൾ ശേഖരിച്ചുവരികയാണെന്ന് പോലീസ് അറിയിച്ചു.

A 46-year-old woman, Sujatha, died after accidentally falling into a vessel of hot sambar while helping serve food at a Vinayaka festival annadanam programme.
Sujatha had gone to volunteer at the food service when the accident occurred. She was helping serve meals to devotees when she fell into the hot sambar, suffering fatal injuries.
The incident left her family in deep grief during the festival.
